Our journey sourcing sustainable materials and processes is an ongoing commitment.
Our wool (washed, combed, dyed and spun exclusively in Italy) originates from farms carefully selected by our mill Lanecadarte, a family of entrepreneurs passionately operating in the wool business since 1663. The precious raw material and Italian skills, culture and tradition result in the excellence of the yarn and like a fine wine, matures, improving after each wash, time after time. Sustainability is important to our mill and the yarn wool supports SustainaWOOLTM for eco-sustainability in animal welfare.
All our knitted garments are made in England using STOLL technology. Founded over 145 years ago, we work with a STOLL specialist in providing highly sophisticated and innovative knitted garments. Each knitted garment is finished with care, passion and know-how of generations.
Organic clothing is made from materials raised in or grown in compliance with organic agricultural standards, which includes the avoidance of chemical use or other toxic inputs during production.
Our organic cotton t-shirts are GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standards) certified, so they meet the highest world recognised standards. GOTS standard also applies to the mills and the workforce that produce our organic cotton, ensuring elevated social and environmental standards are met.
Our Silk Turband Collection is crafted from our silk satin offcuts, reducing waste in production.
Wastage is an issue at all stages of a garments life span, so we do what we can to reduce waste at each step in our process. We work very hard to keep our cutting as tight as possible, not only to ensure we reduce our footprint but to also minimise costs which is always passed on to you, the customer.
We want to ensure that we utilise every inch of our fabrics by designing efficiently and re-using all our material. Creating unique and sustainable products - we give a new lease of life to our production offcuts. Each Turband is handmade in the UK.
Our stripe shirting is made from Tactel, an adapted form of nylon, which is at least twice as soft and 20% lighter than most other fabrics. Its strength and durability aligns with our mission to produce investment clothing that can last a lifetime, alongside comfort that exceeds natural materials.
It has a beautiful next-to-skin softness and a lightweight construction which allows a faster drying time, perfect for the travelling woman on the go.
Digital textile printing is a more envionmentally aware process compared to many of the other traditional printing and dyeing methods. It's reputation as the eco-friendlier of the printing processes is predominantly measured through the reduced amount of waste inevitably produced. We utilise digital textile printing for all our printed fabrics.
The inks used by our manufacturer The Silk Bureau are certified as Azo Dye Free. There is less use of chemicals and water than traditional methods, however the use of water is unavoidable. By investing in high tech equipment our maufacturer has reduced the water consumption to the minimum required to achieve production. The disposal of waste water is treated through approved channels and vetted by the local authority as effluent friendly.
