Worldwide Shipping
Last month, we travelled to Lake Como in Italy to visit one of our mills. It was founded in 1925 as a specialist in shirting fabrication, and this reputation has stood the test of time. During our trip, we witnessed first-hand the unmatched craftsmanship, rigorous quality, and sustainable practices at the heart of the mill.

The Art of Perfection
As the Italian sun filtered through the windows of the workshop, the artisans weaved Yaitte’s bespoke Fil Coupé stripes. The 100% BCI-certified cotton is crafted on a rare machine that twists together yarns to reduce water consumption. It creates a compact weave that balances breathability with increased durability.
Once woven and removed from the loom, the monogrammed material was then inspected by two artisans. Metre by metre by metre.
Textiles Through Time
Above the workshop, the mill has an archive of fabrications and textile books that date to the 1800s. The shelves are stacked high with compilations of stripes, monograms, military materials, and illustrations. Artefacts of artistry.
“I could’ve spent days in there”, shares Danielle Windsor, Yaitte founder. “In a world where everything is increasingly digitised, I am proud to work with a mill that preserves and celebrates the skills of artisans.”

Considered Craftsmanship
Sustainability is of paramount importance to the mill. From the choice of raw materials to the product shipment and packaging, every element is placed under the microscope. The mill draws its energy from renewable sources and has invested in efficient weaving and dyeing machinery that uses 70% less water and energy than traditional methods.
All too soon, the visit came to an end, but its impact remains. The trip reinforced Yaitte’s belief and pride in partnering with suppliers that match our conscious mindset. Learn more about Yaitte’s sustainability commitment.
